RADIANT LANTERN packaging

Packaging structure and graphic design for a pair of LED lanterns. The main goals were to highlight the key features that distinguish these lanterns from competitors and incorporate brand graphic elements into the package structure.

The most important differentiating feature of these lanterns over their competitors is their built-in carabiner clip. Packages were designed to highlight and demonstrate this feature to consumers at retail by adding cutouts to the tops which make this clip accessible on a retail shelf. This design also enables the product to hang on a peg using the clip, giving retailers the multiple merchandising options of either peg or shelf. (Packaging for most competitive lanterns doesn’t provide an option to hang on pegs.)

Creating the structure for these packages from scratch also gave the opportunity to incorporate the graphic elements of the front “swoosh” header and lumens callout—which appear as flat artwork on other packages in this product line—into the structure itself.
